Last September we went to Isabela but since there was no direct flight for that day, we flew via Tuguegarao and did a little detour to a restaurant that sells pancit.
What we were served was called Batil Patong. It’s a noodle dish with groud meat, bagnet, some veggies, liver, chicharon and half cooked egg on top. To the right is a sauce to make it yummiest and a small bowl of red onions to add more crunch and flavor.
I’ve eaten the same dish a few years back in Pancit Center when they still had a branch in Pasig. But the original one really takes the cake. I love it! Too bad it is a 12 hour drive from Manila.
This is definitely one of the best pancits I’ve ever tasted. Eating this is a must if you go there! 🙂

MANILA, Philippines – Nine in 10 Filipino consumers surveyed by global nutrition company Herbalife are “highly concerned” about the potential diseases that an unhealthy lifestyle can cause them, with the same number believing that simple lifestyle changes can help improve their overall well-being.
“We welcome the results of the survey. It gives an understanding of Filipinos becoming even more health conscious and self-aware that they need to make some lifestyle changes to improve their overall well-being. It also gives Herbalife an idea where we are needed, because as the survey revealed only four out of 10 would spend 10 to 30 minutes a day to make simple lifestyle changes,” said Rosalio Valenzuela, Herbalife Philippines General Manager.
The respondents, however, cited the following as the top obstacles to achieving a healthy lifestyle: lack of time for exercise (75 percent), lack of time to make proper nutrition choices (64 percent), and high cost of healthy food (62 percent).
The same health poll likewise showed that the top three aging-related concerns in the country were heart, brain, and eye health.
Better knowledge and understanding
“The findings from the Herbalife survey clearly show that the majority of people in Asia Pacific that we questioned believe in the value of good nutrition and exercise as contributing to their overall well-being. We aim to play a greater role in providing practical tips and information to people to help them understand that the journey to a healthier, more active lifestyle is not difficult to achieve. With as little as 10 minutes a day, consumers can take positive steps to improve their nutrition and be more active, which will improve their overall well-being,” said William M. Rahn, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Herbalife Asia Pacific.
Herbalife conducted the survey in September 2015 in the lead-up to its Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour. It surveyed 1,200 respondents across six countries, including the Philippines, on perceptions towards their health and current lifestyle. Respondents from Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Thailand were likewise included in the survey.
Herbalife Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour
Now on its fourth year, the Herbalife Asia-Pacific Wellness Tour aims to deepen people’s practical understanding of the various aspects of living a healthy active lifestyle. Its previous tours in the past three years saw close to 60,000 participants across the region.

The Herbalife NAB experts participating in this year’s Wellness Tour include Dr. David Heber, who incidentally will be coming to Manila, is a leading expert in the field of nutrition and named as one of “The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds” by Thomson Reuters in 2014 and considered one of “The Best Doctors in America”; Dr. Lou Ignarro, a Nobel laureate in Physiology or Medicine in 1998 for his discovery of nitric oxide’s health benefits; Dr. Gary Small, a specialist in brain health and aging who has authored over 500 scientific works and has received numerous awards and honors, including the “Senior Investigator Award” from the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry; Dr. Marion Fltechner-Mors, a health nutrition specialist who is currently heading the nutrition and obesity research group at Ulm University, Germany; and Dr. Wang Jae Lee, a physician and academic specializing in immunology and a professor at Seoul National University College of Medicine.
Dr. Heber, who is the founding Director of the UCLA Center for Human Nutrition at the University of California, Los Angeles, will be conducting a symposium for free to Filipino medical practitioners on October 23, 9am, at the Manila Hotel. The symposium will gather a group of 100 doctors, nurses, physical therapists and medical practitioners. The following day, Oct. 24, Dr. Heber will be holding seminars for thousands of Herbalife Independent Members in the same hotel.
This is the first time Dr. Heber, who is also the Chairman of the NAB and the Herbalife Nutrition Institute, to conduct a seminar in Manila since the company was founded in the Philippines 22 years ago.

Thoughts from the Fat Cat
To be honest with you, I am one of the people who would say that they are challenged when it comes to being and staying healthy. Thus the name of my blog. I love to eat and I can talk about food all day long. But I know that I need to change too. Thus the changes I’ve recently made in my diet, going to the gym. But I am also pre-diabetic and hormonal, I have a condition that makes it really hard for me to lose weight. And in the two weeks where I went to the gym for at least 3x a week and ate salad, tuna and just a cup of brown rice I just lost 2 pounds. It’s really frustrating.
Then I saw this opportunity to blog about this health company. Lo and behold it is something I already know. Because if there’s a product I would vouch on it would be Herbalife. Herbalife started in the Philippines way back in the early 90s. My mom was then one of their pioneer distributors and I remember the brown boxes in our home. Fond memories of eating meals together with Herbalife’s shake, Vitamins and Mineral Tablets and NRGs which made my young and severely asthmatic self better still make me smile.
I’ve seen this product work guys. I’ve seen many people improve, I myself included since it helped me lose 50lbs in 2009. So why is this Fat Cat fat? It’s because I became lazy. I ate more, I moved less and when I had the chance to drink Herbalife, I did not. Because I was lazy. Thus the unopened bottles of tablets, shakes and aloe drink. >.< Gosh this article has turned into a confession.
But yeah I admit I have a problem and well I decided to do something about it. Starting next week with the help of my mom I’ll start my Herbalife program and I’ll let you guys know how it goes. Okies? Till then! For now, I would like to share how I looked like when I was taking Herbalife.
It’s not a secret. People who are close to me know that I read Harry Potter and am a Fanfiction fan. I’ve literally read a LOT of them from way back in 2002.
I’ve fallen in love with the world that fans had created. A world where the characters went ton with their lives and a world where you can choose who gets to end up with who.
With it my heart broke with every hero’s heartbreak, but nothing hurts more than the abandoned and abruptly cut plot.
These days I’ve found myself exploring the world of crossovers. This is a group of stories where two plots intersect. I find myself liking the ones with Harry Potter and Twilight.
With that in mind, I started creating a story last night and honestly I feel happy and at the same time curious that it is actually gaining more followers faster than my blog page. Hahahah
Is it because of supply and demand? Oh well. I know that I enjoy writing and with this story is a promise that I won’t abandon this plot. Because with the highs of reading, nothing is more painful than an abandoned plot.

Both are from CD-R KING and yes you read it correctly the card reader sells only for fifteen Pesos! At first I thought the OTG was only hood for checking files via USB and watching movies… but one tiring afternoon I had to send some high resolution pictures to my mom and I’m too tired to get my laptop so I thought “well the card reader looks like a USB and acts like a USB so this should work” and viola!!!
The beauty of this setup is that I have options to upload, send and save the pictures or files via different means like email, chat, Dropbox, message, Viber, Facebook Google Drive and WordPress. In fact I’m now lying on my bed while doing this.
Convenient huh?! Now if you want to upload pictures, just make sure you have WiFi or Mobile Data. The next three months would be extremely busy, wonderful and memorable. So let’s all be event ready by trying new things, making sure that everything works properly, all electronic devices are charged and that you’re always photoready!
Till next time! Expect me to post the pictures from tomorrow’s Belle de Jour Veterans Party!
